DISCOVERY SHIRLEY ROBINETT'S MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE ART WORLD
I am Shirley Robinett, a distinguished Montana-based artist specializing in this captivating medium. As a woman collage artist with over two decades of experience, I believe in the transformative power of art to heal and inspire. If you are looking for art that is unique and different, you've found it here.
In my studio nestled in the heart of Montana, I paint on paper, creating unique pieces that transcend conventional boundaries. The essence of my work lies in the detailed process of cutting and reassembling, infusing each piece with natural elements like feathers, flowers, grasses, and porcupine quills.
My goal is not merely to create visually stunning art but to resonate with viewers on a profound level. Every brightly-colored, whimsical image tells a story—a reflection of my personal struggles, triumphs, and journey. Each creation is not just a piece of art but a manifestation of my belief that art carries the power to connect, uplift, and bring blessings. Explore my gallery and experience the magic of mixed media collage art through my eyes. Welcome to a world where creativity and soulful expression converge. Read more about me and my art.
April 1-30. Art Show Exhibition & Sale
April 26, 5-7pm. Artist Reception
Host: ERA Landmark, 8 East Main, Bozeman, MT
Hours: Monday-Saturday 10a-5p
I have been involved with Reach, Inc. for several years as an artist contributor to their fundraisers. Their mission to empower the people they serve to attain their individual goals and aspirations resonates with me.
It's intriguing to observe the parallels between my art and the mission of Reach. Beginning with a white sheet of paper, I paint it, cut or rip it into pieces, then assemble the fragments into images. Similarly, the lives of individuals with disabilities may have commenced as uncomplicated as the painted paper, yet soon found themselves torn by the weight of their limitations and insurmountable challenges. Enter Reach, a beacon of assistance, gathering these shattered pieces and offering pathways to transform their existence into something profoundly beautiful.
ERA Landmark will price match up to $250! You may join me and ERA in supporting Reach by sending your tax-deductible donations to Reach, Inc., Attn: Jacy Widhalm, 322 Gallatin Park Drive, Bozeman, Montana 59715. Please make sure to add this in the memo: "Robinett Art Show Donation."
For more information about Reach, Inc.: www.reachinc.org.
Note: All original pieces displayed on this site have been earmarked for the April exhibition. Nevertheless, you can still acquire an original artwork at your convenience, bearing in mind that it will be showcased in the exhibition and shipped to you post-show, typically by the first week of May. Thank you for supporting my art business.
“Shirley has been an integral part of the success of our art auction and our clients. Her thirteen years of generosity, her willingness to share her artistic talents, and her ideas for enhancing our event have all enabled us to continually grow our art auction, recruit high quality artists to our event, and enjoy her exceptional art. Our clients, and our organization, are better because of her assistance with our mission.”
~ Dee Metrick, Reach Executive Director
I am pleased and honored to be the featured artist in the April issue of Bozeman Magazine.

"Recognized for her distinct and unmistakable style of mixed media collage art, Shirley Robinett is an artist whose passion for creation has been ingrained since her early days on a small farm in Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. Throughout her life, Shirley has explored various mediums such as calligraphy, drawing, painting, and photography. However, it was the inspiration of Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the discovery of mixed media collage that captivated her artistic soul, leading her on a transformative journey." "We just received our third original of Shirley’s artwork. Two of pieces were commissioned subjects that thrill us and make us smile every time we see them. The character, humor, creativity, and beauty of this art is almost unbeatable. We are so happy to add our new piece to our growing collection of wall hangings, mugs, and cards. Our main problem is that the cards are almost too wonderful to use." TLB & HJB, Michigan
"This experience [of taking an art class] has been so fun and I created something I will actually hang up in my house." MB, Montana
"I was immediately drawn to Shirley's unique style of combining watercolored paper with other carefully curated materials to create beautiful works of art. Her work delights the eye and inspires feelings and one finds a true appreciation of the depth, thought and talent in her compilations. Each of her pieces tells a story and Shirley attaches a beautifully written note with materials used, inspiration for the work and the love that emanates from the process. I absolutely loved representing her paintings and was always excited to see what she would bring in the gallery next! " AG, Montana
"Shirley's whimsical and carefree animals make me smile. She puts her soul into her pieces, imparting life and love to each one. It's an honor to share her journey." RK, Montana
